How Does it Work?

Your vehicle needs to be converted to run on LPG. This involves adding an extra tank and some components to your engine. The process is relatively simple, and it is possible to run on petrol as well as LPG. You can switch between the two fuels at the touch of a button.

How Safe is it?

Extremely. The LPG tank is made of 6mm thick solid steel and has to be approved to rigorous safety standards. The LPG system has at least six safety valves, including pressure valves, cut-off valves and check-valves. The tank has to withstand the force equivalent to eight times that expected in a rear-end accident at 40mph: The petrol tank will be broken and leaking long before the gas tank gets even the smallest dent.

Where Can I Refuel?

There are currently over 1200 LPG refuelling sites nationwide, and the network is expanding all the time. Every City and major town in the UK has at least one re-fueling site, and there are plenty on the major roads and motorways. Remember, even if you do run out of LPG, the system will seamlessly switch back to petrol.
